The Directorate of Health has published guidance regarding disease prevention and control in connection to Covid-19 and visiting the eruption site.
- Those who are in quarantine are not to visit the eruption site.
- Do not take on the tour if you have a suspicion on infection of the Covid-19 (Information on symptoms can be found on covid.is),
- Bring with you hand sanitizers and masks (3-4).
- Limit close contact with other people/groups and respect the social distancing guidelines (2 meters).
- Use a mask in locations where it is not possible to maintain social distancing guidelines, for example by the rope on the hiking trail.
- Disinfect your hands before and after the rope on the hiking trail and/or if you have come into contact with surfaces that many persons touch.
