Car Rentals

There are plenty of car rentals throughout the country.

Some are part of an international chain and others are privately owned. Prices and quality may vary so it’s important to examine carefully all the possibilities.

Public Transportation

Reykjanesbær city bus runs from 7-18 all working days and from 10-17 on saturdays, the service is closed on sundays.

Domestic flights

The closest domestic airport to Reykjanes peninsula is Reykjavík Domestic Airport. It is only 40 min drive from Keflavík International Airport, which is located in the heart of the peninsula to the domestic airport. 

Two airlines offer domestic flights from Reykjavík, Air Iceland Connect and Eagle Air Iceland. Flights can be booked through their websites or via telephone.

Taxi

Most of the more populated areas of Iceland have taxis.

They all have meters, and charge a starting fee in addition to charging by the minute.
