The Icelandic MET office has issued a Yellow and orange weather warning for 30. - 31. January, 2023.
Strong winds (15-25m/sek or 54-90km/h) with wind gusts and snowfall are expected in the afternoon on the Reykjanes peninsula and into the night. 
We recommend that you adapt your travel plans and not travel while the weather warnings are valid. Choose some warm indoor activities in the afternoon.  

All major roads are open in the Reykjanes region. There is still some snow and it can affect visibility and driving conditions.

  • Road no. 41 (Reykjanesbraut) is open in both directions, from Reykjavik to Keflavik.
  • Road no. 43 to Grindavik is open. 
  • Road no. 421 to Vogar is open.
  • Road no. 427 on the south coast of Reykjanes peninsula is open.
  • Road no. 45 and 429 to Garður and Sandgerði is open. 
  • Road no. 45 from Sandgerði to road no. 44 is open.
  • Road no. 425 to Reykjanes lighthouse, the Bridge between continents, Gunnuhver and Brimketill is open. 
  • Road no. 42 by Kleifarvatn and Seltún is closed.
  • Road no. 420 is open.
