Mom's songs

April 12 at 17:00-19:00

Price description

ISK 8,500

Singers Hera Björk, Einar Örn and Bjarni “Töfrar” Baldvins bring their horses together here and perform the songs that mothers & grandmothers used to hum while doing housework in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. They sing the songs, tell the stories and reminisce about all the good old hits such as Heyr mitt ljufasta, Björt mey, Lóa litla, Þrek og tár, Bjössi á Mjólkur, Vegir lieggja, Vertu ekk að horfa etc. etc. etc.! And they do this to the melodious instrumental playing of master Björn Thoroddsen's band, which, in addition to guitarist Björn, also includes Matti Kallio on piano, Sigfús Óttarsson on drums and Jón Rafnsson on bass.

Hera Björk hardly needs to be introduced, as she has been singing and entertaining the nation for over 30 years of her life. Bjarni Tóframaður has similarly enchanted the country and entertained for many years with a good reputation, so we don't need to say much about him. But the young Einar Örn is known by fewer people and we predict (and you read it here first;) that this will certainly change quickly because this brave and talented young gentleman has come to see and conquer. And he does not come on stage empty-handed, because he has the good fortune to be neither more nor less than the great-grandson of our one and only true Raggi Bjarni! And it is safe to say that the ancestors have managed to creep down the family tree, because the young man is so cheerfully infected with talent and stage brilliance that it is as if our very best Raggi has returned in his cool jacket.

A special guest of honor will be the well-known singer Hjördís Geirs, who has been singing and entertaining the country since 1959 and has never stopped.

An old-school music party that you & yours can't miss.
