The Choir of Keflavík Church and the Choir of Akranes Church will join forces to perform the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, in the Icelandic translation by Karl Ágúst Úlfsson, at Hljómahöll on March 21 at 17:00.
The performance features a 100-member choir. Several soloists from within the choirs will appear alongside a live band and instrumentalists. The conductors are Arnór Vilbergsson, organist at Keflavík Church, and Hilmar Örn Agnarsson, organist at Akranes Church. Eyþór Ingi and Stebbi Jak will perform the roles of Jesus and Judas.
The rock opera is widely known and tells the story of the final days of Jesus, largely seen through the perspective of Judas.
